The food was delicious! The deck was full, so we ate inside. Since we had our of town visitors we asked to sit in the dining room where it was a little quieter. The service was just a little slow, but that just gave us longer to chat! I recommend everyone giving Island View a try.
Amazing food! Servers are kind and they had a large party they were hosting inside. Still managed to keep an eye on those of us locals out on the deck. Beautiful view. Feeding the ducks was a bonus.
The island View is in a great location for access to Rainy Lake and Voyagers National Park. I have been to Rainy Lake several times for fishing and camping and each time I stayed someplace different. This times it was just the guys and we stayed in cabin 3 which I believe is one of the smallest and most “rustic” cabins but its in a great spot with quick access to the boat docks. The cabin itself could use a little attention, like fix the toilet seat and give it a good cleaning but we were there for fishing. My wife would have wanted one of the nicer cabins. When we checked in a little more explanation from the staff would have been nice but we figured it out. For example I wish they told is this and I would strongly advise against towing your boat amongst the cabins. It’s more of a walking path as there are tight turns, boulders and trees making it difficult. I’m pretty good with a trailer but without a couple spotters I never would have made it through. We had leas than an inch of space at times. Inside of the resort is really neat with good views of the lake. The food was good and the service friendly. There is also a huge deck that I'm sure is fun during the warmer months. The nights were quiet and relaxing and at one point we had a loon swimming around the docks. I would go back.
Ron, Trella, Chris and Caleb are amazing humans and always make for an absolutely fantastic resort experience. Been visiting every year for 11 years now and it’s definitely the highlight of our father-son summer fishing trips!
